Does the artist who made it pop deserve adoration, or the person who created it to begin with? Realistically, the answer is somewhere in the middle, but it still helps to know who sang it first. That isn’t to say some of the originals aren’t pretty great already, either, giving music fans a whole lot to celebrate when its all said and done.įor all the positives, a slight challenge does arise in remembering where it all began, and who to give proper credit to when a song becomes a success. In certain cases, a song’s true potential doesn’t become clear until a second party comes along and creates a cover version that untaps the hidden greatness in the original. It’s all well and good to compose some heartfelt lyrics and put a nice beat behind it, but sometimes the most emotional songs are just too intense for the person who wrote it to let the music flow through them honestly. Let’s face it-the mere fact an artist wrote a song doesn’t mean they know how it’s supposed to sound.
